The Establishment of Abortion

McDonagh, E.L. "Abortion As A Reproductive Right." Historical and Multicultural Encyclopedia of Women's Reproductive Rights In The United States 2002.

Abortion has been a constitutional right that was established in the trial Roe v. Wade(1973). The ruling of this trial tore down at the least, 46 state laws. A woman has a right to choose an abortion. There is a catch to this law. A woman is prohibited by the state to abort her baby if her pregnancy is at viability or "the end of the second trimester". The only way the state can't interfere is if the woman's health or life is in danger. All of this was beginning in 1973, and is still in the process today.
